Why the Story Was Written. August 11, 2010

For my husband Klink, and non-Hodgkins lymphoma. For my grandpa Howie, and Mesotheleoma. For my step-mother Nancy, and Metastatic Malignant Melanoma. For my stylist Suzanne, my friends Cindy, Scotty, Tommy, Penny, and so many more I’d list, if there was room. And for all of yours too. Without ever seeing The Story of Cosmetics, you’ve no doubt been touch by a part of it. Find out why The Story needs to be told again and again.

If the Safe Cosmetics Act 2010 passes, it would mean significant changes for the salon/spa industry. Good changes. Did you know that because of the current law, product manufacturers are exempt from providing MSDS (material safety data sheets) to salons? Do you know that hair stylists have a 7 % higher risk of cancer than the general population? Did you know that we have absolutely no idea what’s in some of the products we use and recommend daily? Let’s all hope that changes!
